Picture
What is Radon?
  •  Radon is a radioactive gas.
  • It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils.
  • It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and holes in your foundation.
  • Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up.

RADON IS A SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUE
It is the highest cause of lung cancer

How does Radon gas get into my house?
  • Radon may enter a home anywhere there is an opening between the  home and the soil.
  • It moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the  foundations.
  • These openings include floor drains, sumps, foundations cracks and many more.
  • Your home traps radon inside where it can build up.
  • Any home can have a radon problem.
  • This means new and old homes,
    • well-sealed
    • and drafty homes
    • and homes with or without basements.

How can I tell if my home contains radon?
  Since radon gas
is odorless, colorless, tasteless,
The only way to tell if radon gas is present is to

How long does a radon test take?
The EPA recommends taking a short term test, 2-3 days.

Once the test is completed
you will receive an easy to read report showing
the radon levels for every hour and an overall average.
Based on those results
Nothing may be required
or
radon mitigation may be required.
Ron's Home Inspections LLC
Will be there to help guide your decisions!
